Choctaw Landing is a resort in Hochatown, north of Broken Bow, and two things win guests over. The casino is fully nonsmoking, which surprises and pleases many visitors, and the big pool, with a shallow area for small children, a deeper section and cabanas to rent, anchors summer stays. The floor has plenty of slots plus table games with friendly dealers, the property is clean, and several guests found the food very good.

The resort side has its frustrations. Rooms run high for their size, and one guest was hit with a property fee after checkout that wasn't mentioned at booking. Pool service is thin, with long waits for drinks and the bar closed or short staffed even on busy weekend afternoons. Not everyone was won over by the food. Slot players are the least satisfied, calling the machines tight and the lineup short on popular titles.

    We drove a long ways to get to this hotel. We arrived early so we could enjoy the pool after check-in. The pool and hot tub were nearly the same temperature, not enjoyable at all.

    Went for the Starbucks, stayed for the pool. We were exploring the area and toed for a day pass to the pool. The outside bar was closed, so service was maybe once an hour a waitress took orders poolside. The pool was amazing, clean and new

    This place is so awesome. I didn't stay but went through the casino floor, the gift shop, and the outdoor venue area.
