Colorado casino towns

Casinos in Black Hawk

Black Hawk is an old gold mining town in the mountains west of Denver, and it has Colorado's biggest casinos. Hotel towers like Ameristar, Monarch and the Caesars pair of Horseshoe and Lady Luck share Main Street and Gregory Street with small storefront casinos where a free hot dog and nickel video poker are the point. Colorado allows casinos only here, in Central City and in Cripple Creek; the gambling age is 21, and there has been no maximum bet since voters and the towns lifted the old limit in 2021.

The 10 top rated venues in Black Hawk

How the ranking works. Venues are ordered by their Google rating, weighted by how many people left one: every rating is blended with a neutral 4.0 as if the venue had 200 more reviews at 4.0, so a 4.6 from thousands of reviews ranks above a 5.0 from a dozen. Sponsorship has no effect on the order. Ratings last checked October 2026.
