  • Restaurant service often slow

The short version

What visitors say about Stones Gambling Hall

Stones is as much a restaurant as a card room. Sammy's, the kitchen and bar inside, wins praise for grilled octopus, Wagyu burgers, steak and pho, and plenty of diners never touch a card, coming instead for dinner, live music and the stylish room. Service has been uneven, with guests describing long waits to be noticed, menus they had to find themselves and orders that came out wrong, though one longtime regular says things have improved under new management.

Players describe a comfortable place to settle in for a long poker session, with a solid player pool and friendly floor hosts. There are no slots or dice, which disappoints anyone expecting a tribal casino, and a few players found certain dealers curt.

To be honest, I just got a chance to look around inside and put my name up to play. But having been in many, many casinos, this one had a great feel not super huge but very inviting. And the people were really friendly.

The service is usually amazing, and the overall environment is welcoming and comfortable. It’s a solid spot to enjoy a good meal, and I always look forward to coming back.
