The short version

What visitors say about 19th Hole Casino & Lounge

The 19th Hole is a bar first and a small card room second, on West Tregallas Road in Antioch. Regulars like the bartenders and the crowd, and one player rates the card room on par with California Grand while being much closer to home. Over the years, though, a number of visitors found the bar service slow or the welcome cool.

Poker tournaments are the main event. Fans call them social and easy for beginners, with dealers who explain the rules, but they move fast, with short levels and steep blind jumps, and often run on just two tables, so late arrivals may not get in. The bigger frustration is information: the website and phone line don't always match what's running, and a couple of players drove over for a game that wasn't there.

My husband is a regular here and enjoys playing pool, which made this experience especially disappointing. The bar was not busy, yet we waited several minutes for service. Instead of coming over, the bartender loudly told us to come to her,

I had a very frustrating experience with this casino. I tried calling multiple times (around 7–8 attempts), but no one answered—not even the manager. There was no information provided on the website or anywhere else about availability or
