The short version

What visitors say about Bankers Casino

In Salinas, Bankers is known as much for its shrimp tacos as for its cards. Reviewers go on about the crisp, cheese crusted tortillas and the well seasoned shrimp, and the fried fish and pancakes have fans too. Because it's open late, the kitchen draws people after drinks or an event nearby. The catch is the wait: several diners describe an hour or more for a plate and having to flag someone down.

The card room is small and local, dealing blackjack, Spanish 21, three card poker, baccarat and hold'em. Whether a given game is running depends on dealers and players, and a couple of visitors drove in only to find the poker or baccarat table shut. Dealers are mostly called friendly and patient. The sour notes are disputes over Spanish 21 hands, where players say a dealer didn't check for blackjack and the room wouldn't make it right.

Bankers Casino has become one of our go to eating spots whenever we’re grabbing drinks or attending an event nearby, especially since they’re open late. Their food is seriously underrated.

The shrimp tacos absolutely live up to the hype, they really are the talk of the town. The tortilla is perfectly crispy, with…

If you want to play actual, honest cards, stay far away from Bankers Casino on Monterey Street. This place operates like a grimy middle school cafeteria rather than a professional card room.I sat in Seat 1 on the Spanish 21 table and was

Leo, the new dealer, is awesome! He’s friendly, professional, and knows how to keep the table fun and welcoming. He really makes the experience enjoyable for everyone. I’m not surprised he came from Vegas—you can definitely see the difference. Hope to see him dealing more often!

    Response from the owner

Leo is a wonderful new addition to the team.

Very slow service, asked for breakfast with eggs over medium; yet it took an hour to get 🙄 meal and eggs were barely cooked, not flipped, uncooked hash browns and all they had was white bread for toast that they forgot and it took another 30 minutes to receive. Going to Denny's next time!
