The short version

What visitors say about Bay 101

Bay 101 sits on North First Street near the San Jose airport, and poker is why most people come. The waitlist is the most common gripe. One former regular walked out facing close to 40 names for a limit game, and others report waits of an hour or more while the blackjack, three card and four card poker tables sat half full. Baccarat players find fewer active tables here than at other Bay Area rooms.

First timers tend to leave happier. Several describe dealers who explained the games and a relaxed mood at the tables. There are no slots, and a dollar or more comes off each banked hand, which catches out of town players by surprise. Food and drinks reach the tables, but the one bar gets knocked for slow, distracted bartenders, and some poker players complain about how floor staff behave.

This review is for the Bay 101 bar. Went on a Friday evening noticed 2 bartenders working. Even though I had my wallet out waiting to be served a drink, not one approached me. One guy was chatting with a customer. The other looking at her phone.

Finally after 15 minutes got my beer. No Tip!

Just so you all know, the odds are always in the casinos favor , Always. That being said, don't go with more than you can afford to lose. Don't be crazy and take your rent or mortgage money, usually you will be very disappointed.

    Good luck if you go..

This was my first visit to Bay 101 for some gambling fun. We played many games, and our chips fluctuated from winning to losing to winning, etc. But we never stopped having a good time. The dealers were very friendly and helpful when we didn’t understand the games, and the vibe was super relaxed, and everyone was having a good time.
