The short version

What visitors say about Bear River Casino Resort

Bear River sits off Highway 101 across from Ferndale, laid out as several smaller gaming rooms rather than one big hall. Smokers have a room of their own, so the rest of the floor stays fairly clear, which several guests appreciated. Slot players are split: some had good runs, while longtime locals call the machines tight. The lounge and restaurant get praise for ribeye and dishes at every budget, though others call the food ordinary and expensive.

The hotel has large rooms and an arcade that families on redwood trips enjoy, but complaints pile up about thin walls, housekeeping, a pool that's hard to get into and billing mix ups at the front desk. The bar enforces firm drink limits, and drinks aren't comped for play. RVs can park with a players card, though one driver was told not to sleep in a car, and security draws repeated complaints.

The natives upfront has a bad attitude. I got a great rate. The front guy gave me THE worst room in the hotel. Next day I talked to different ( white) guy and he switched me to fat better room- so I gave him a $20. The rooms are large size, windows don't open. Long walk to outdoor parking. Cleaning staff is THE…

This was a really nice casino. Rv parking is not great but is available with player card. Has a nice restaurant and gas station right below. Across the street theres an activity place for kids. This was a great spot.

The casino is decent size, it didn't feel crowded on a Friday night. The lounge had amazing food, they have tons of variety of food for all budgets. The machines paid very well. First time players get a 10 dollar slot or table comp. The live music surprisingly didn't overwhelm the casino floor. They have smoking areas and non smoking areas.

Great spot. We were visiting the Redwoods and this was an excellent stop on our road trip. Clean rooms, good food, and the arcade on site was fun for the kiddos. Would recommend and come back for sure.
