The short version

What visitors say about Harrah's Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack

Much of the recent praise for Harrah's Philadelphia is about events, not gambling. Reviewers came for boxing cards, tribute concerts in a large hall called the Block, and a food festival held out on the racetrack. The food holds up well, with the steakhouse and a cheesesteak counter both getting compliments. Away from the big nights the casino floor is often quiet, which suits players who dislike crowds.

Busy nights test the staff. People at a boxing card, a dance event and a fireworks show all describe poor organization, and the fireworks crowd sat in the lot for over an hour trying to leave. Slot players call the machines stingy, nonsmokers say the smoke is hard to escape, and first timers found the rewards counter shut when they needed a card.

There was no order in event room. All chairs were full and everyone stood on chairs. Since we didn't even have a seat we were left…

  • I went to the buns and bowtie event. It was OK. I started late. They wasn’t organized enough. They charge people $30 for a dance, but I feel as though they was trying to serve like six people at a time. With their dancing, but I guess it was OK.

Im from Las Vegas so this place looked like a prison on the outside and an airport on the inside. I didn't noticed anyone having fun. It wasn't crowded. Thats positive, right?
