The short version

What visitors say about Hidden Oaks Casino

Hidden Oaks is a tiny casino in Covelo, roughly an hour's drive from Willits, with a few dozen slot machines, a players club and a little cafe. Visitors like the burgers, fries and chicken sandwiches, the free sodas and staff who make strangers feel welcome. The weekly schedule of match play days and drawings is generous for a room this size.

The main gripe is broken machines; several reviewers found a good share of them dark, which leaves even fewer choices. Food can be slow when the kitchen gets busy. It closes for part of the night, and one visitor who drove over from Lake County found it shut twice, so check the hours before you make the trip.
