The short version

What visitors say about Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course

Penn National gets unusually warm words for upkeep. Reviewer after reviewer calls it clean and well maintained, and they also mention easy parking, helpful staff and a mostly local, friendly crowd. The race course adds novelty: families came out for summer races featuring camels, zebras and ostriches and enjoyed the day. Truck drivers and RV travelers like having a lot where big rigs can park. There is also a poker room.

This is a smoking casino, and nonsmokers notice. Drinks run pricey. Leaving is the other headache. One concertgoer describes a slow crawl out of the lot, and late at night some doors are locked, sending guests meeting a ride on a long walk around the building. Players who lost here repeatedly call the slots tight.

I’m here for a RunGood Poker Series and I’m pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, size, and friendless of this casino. I’m also 1-for-1 in food, but I did play it safe with a Chicken Garden Salad.

Up until this trip, Hollywood Casinos that I have visited on my travels have been average at best. They’re usually in…

Decent casino, not Vegas but it's what we have locally. Stopped by to grab concert tickets. The hours at Penn Play (not Play Penn) are odd.

This place is a great place for concerts. The parking isn't bad. It's just leaving the place is a disaster. They need a better way and people to direct traffic. The price of drinks are pricey but it's worth it for the experience

Had fun here...won some $$$, wide variety of slots, clean, helpful, friendly staff. Table games which we didn't play.
