The short version

What visitors say about Outlaws Card Parlor

Outlaws on East Front Street spent years as Atascadero's bar and grill with cards in the back, and most of its reviews still describe that version: generous plates, chicken fried steak breakfasts, well made cocktails and pool tables. That has changed. Recent reviewers report that the bar and kitchen have shut and the liquor license is gone, so don't plan a meal around a visit.

What remains is the card room, and the people who play it like it. Hold'em, three card poker and blackjack are dealt to a friendly crowd of locals. A couple of newer players felt outmatched at the poker table, and one was put off by dealers who sit down to play against customers. Older reviews also mention slow service when the room was busy.

I ordered the turkey club sandwich with fries and my husband ordered the prime rib with onion rings. Food and Service were fabulous. Oh and we played at the card table in the back - great atmosphere. Loved it!

They lost their license, so there is no longer a bar or food. The poker games are still fun and the customers are great. Just be aware of some dealers, all the other ones are good, the guy with the beard is a cool guy. There are two dealers who are twins that will switch out and play together, which isn’t cool. They…

It sucks the bar and kitchen were shut down. Rodney and richard were great bartenders. They were very helpful helping me find drinks i like and making little tweaks to make it perfect. All the bartenders and servers were nice and made a nice environment. If i hear the spots any of them end up working at ill be there.
