The short version

What visitors say about Pahrump Nugget Hotel and Casino

The Pahrump Nugget appeals to people who want a slower pace than Las Vegas. Visitors describe a casino big enough to hold their interest without being overwhelming, and one compares the mood to Vegas decades ago, without the big city fees. A Denny's sits inside, and there's a steakhouse too. Table players have less to work with. One says craps runs on half a table, and a local bartender wishes the Nugget had any poker game at all.

The hotel side draws steadier complaints. Guests who booked nonsmoking rooms report cigarette or marijuana smells, and others mention dusty vents, a toilet that ran all night and front desk staff who were short with them. Expect a refundable deposit at check in plus a resort fee; a couple of reviewers felt they were charged more than they'd been quoted. Reviews of the Denny's lean negative on both food and service.

I asked 2 different security guards questions about the casino and hotel and was met with a very rude response and tone. Not…

The four of us ate at the steakhouse. My husband said the steak was nothing to rave about but it was edible. I ordered a a Caesar salad that was drowning in dressing and I couldn't eat it. My husband's salad came and it was really limp lettuce and he couldn't eat his either. I also had coconut shrimp and they weren't bad

Be aware that you are charged a $50 deposit and then they tack on a $10 "resort" fee at the last minute, so basically you are paying double the advertised price of the room until you get the $50 deposit back. The room wasn't terrible but I had booked a non smoking room and was put in a smoking room. I was told there…
