Twin Pine sits on Highway 29 just south of Middletown, on the way up from Calistoga, and it's a small, cozy casino with a hotel attached. Recent guests describe renovated, roomy and very clean rooms and a front desk that goes out of its way, while longtime fans say the promotions beat anything else around Clear Lake. There's a bingo hall, free soda and coffee, cheap gas at the station and a prime rib dip worth ordering.

Two warnings come up again and again. The property doesn't allow dogs, and several visitors with service animals were turned away after a long drive. And a number of regulars believe the machines have tightened lately, saying they lose faster than they used to. Other complaints mention road noise in rooms facing the highway, a food kiosk that closes earlier than posted, slow counter service and a few reports of unclean rooms.

    The resort was amazing! Members were so welcoming and helpful. My parents have been coming for decades and enjoy their stay every time. Rooms are extremely clean, renovated, ample space, and have modern amenities! Casino seems to have newer slot games as well.

    I wish I would have kept on driving. Stopped in for a bite to eat.Didn't wanna eat too much long drive home. Afraid of falling asleep. Wanted to play one hand of 21 was told I had to wait for the deal. After watching them one on one for 7

    Located just off Hwy. 29, south of Middletown and north of Calistoga, Twin Pine is an oasis of good times and great service. The hotel and casino staff are helpful and always smiling and the games are where it's at. I frequent several casinos around Clear Lake and the surrounding areas, but Twin Pine is my favorite. They have the best promos around!
