Emerald Island is a small casino on Market Street in old downtown Henderson, around the corner from the Rainbow Club. Regulars who have been coming for twenty years call it a step back in time, and the cafe is a big part of why: Friday steak and lobster specials, a cheesesteak people drive across the valley for, and stews that get their own mentions. Players get rewards and giveaways every day, and the place fills up for St. Patrick's Day, as you'd expect with that name.
Recent reviews are harder on it. Longtime players say the machines have tightened, and a couple noticed familiar staff gone after the casino changed hands. Service in the cafe can drag, with long waits for water or a drink order, and late night food draws complaints about cold or overcooked plates. The air is heavy with smoke, and two regulars were upset to find years of rewards points wiped out when they expired.

My husband and I used to go there a lot before years ago. In February of next year we plan on visiting this hidden gem again. We will be there to enjoy the best Philly cheesesteak sandwich ever and play some slots. I love the atmosphere and the music, not to mention we could play there for hours! 🥰The staff there has always taken real good care of us. Best casino ever!

Food always adequate or slightly better, more often than not service is always lacking especially in restaurant area. It smells horrible in here, and the Machines are very tight over here. I literally went to about 20 or 30 machines and not one payout.Especially when you bet Higher denominations. It Seems like they only pay a little bit on the penny slots.
