Set in the state's southwest corner, a short drive from Lake Michigan, this Four Winds resort draws many guests who drive in from out of state or several hours away. Fans describe a clean, good looking casino where most notice little or no cigarette smoke, along with friendly staff, a buffet worth planning around and a pool that hotel guests enjoy.

The hotel's 9 pm check in cutoff causes the most grief. Rooms not claimed by then go to a waiting list, and several travelers delayed on the road arrived to find theirs gone with no call beforehand. One group was also charged a no show fee.

Other complaints cover tight slots, rooms due for an update, repairs that never got done, and staff who were curt at the door and on the floor. It's 21 and over, and a couple of visitors found the ID checks overly strict.

    The smell of cigarette smoke was not overwhelming but always there mixed with pot. The rooms were nice. The showers were great. We like the coffee served in the casino (free). We don't gamble. Pool was terrific and we played cards amongst ourselves on the deck of the pool. We were on the 7th floor and there was only…

    Very nice Casino. Machines played well and where running good. There's a buffet on weekends but I did not stay that long. The menu looks GREAT! Friday night seafood buffet, I love those. If I lived in Michigan this definitely would be my Friday night out.

    It's probably because we stay in the smoking rooms but this property could probably stand an update soon. The mattress could use replacement (rolling toward the middle). It's also been damp in the room the last couple of times we've stayed
