  • Historic hotel full of western decor
  • Remodeled rooms with tiny bathrooms
  • Smoky, tired lobby and casino

The short version

What visitors say about Hotel Nevada & Gambling Hall

Hotel Nevada has stood on Ely's main street since 1929, and most people who book it want that history. The halls are lined with western decor and relics of the town's past, and several recent guests were surprised to find remodeled rooms with comfortable beds that still keep a vintage feel. The trade off is the bathrooms, fitted into a very old building. Some are snug and some barely leave room to turn around, and a few rooms are narrow as well.

Opinions on the gambling hall downstairs split. Some find it clean and fun, while others describe a lobby and casino floor that smell of smoke and badly need freshening up. The Denny's that once ran around the clock has closed, and the hotel was reported to be preparing its own diner in the space. Staff get good marks for friendliness, and pets are welcome.

The hotel as a whole was really neat! The history and vintage aspect was fun to stay at. I was pleasantly surprised how updated the rooms were compared to the hotels age but it was fun!

I have stayed here a couple times, nice older pretty well maintained. Nothing fancy but a nice place. Casino is fun and clean, rooms comfy and clean, the staff were really nice. I wish the dennys was still 24-7 though.

Our first time staying at the Hotel Nevada & Gambling Hall. The room was just large enough and though the bathroom was quaint it had everything you needed. The bed was comfy as well as the pillows. Since we were on the 2nd floor, we slept
