The short version
The Tropicana is set back from the riverbank, so river views come only from the upper floors and at extra cost. It does better with the basics: staff most guests call nice, Carnegie's cafe, a breakfast favorite with friendly service, and, for children, an arcade and a shallow wading pool. One monthly regular swears by the Amtrak connection, a shuttle van from the station in Kingman, Arizona, that stops at the front door.
The hotel side struggles. Reviews describe rooms that weren't properly cleaned, with stains, sticky drawers and in a couple of cases a roach or mold, along with air conditioning that couldn't cool the room. Elevators are a sore point, with only some running and long lines at busy times, and check in can mean a queue with one clerk. Movies and internet cost extra, and the 40 year old building looks its age.

Absolutely horrible experience. The staff and management were rude, unhelpful, and made me feel like I was the problem when THEY messed up my reservation.

Beware somethings are nice. The employees who work here are all very very nice. The casino is good lots of games fun nice. This hotel side is run down only 4 elevators worked to the high rise tower we stayed in. We wait in a 40minute+ line
1st time stopping there. Just a day trip to play some slots. Good selection of games. Machines were clean and restrooms were in good order. Had a good lunch at Carnegies, one of the restaurants there. Nice gift shop and an arcade. Shout out to our server Devin,at Carnegies. Job well done !!

It is a smaller size casino.
Limited slot machines-only a handful of old school slots. The high limit room is not to my liking.
