The short version

What visitors say about Golden Nugget Cripple Creek Hotel & Casino

Golden Nugget, which one longtime regular remembers as the Wildwood, is a no frills hotel with a modest casino. Guests find the rooms clean and quiet, a free shuttle loops around town every half hour, and the front desk staff get kind words even from unhappy guests. Players mention a decent mix of tables and slots, and one couple praises their casino host.

The hotel's basics are the sore spot. Cell service and wifi range from spotty to nonexistent inside, the TVs often don't work, there's no coffee in the rooms or the casino, and one regular finds the beds very hard. Several guests describe billing disputes over deposits, a $50 daily resort fee and charges on comped rooms. Drink service on the floor is thin, and the Saltgrass Steakhouse gets poor marks for long waits, especially on event weekends.

Clean and quiet. Never heard any noise outside the room during our stay. Amenities were plentiful and the staff very friendly. Well appointed bathroom had everything needed. Slept very well in the world's highest casino hotel. Free Shuttle runs every 30 min to take folks all over Cripple Creek.

I've stayed here twice now. The beds are extremely hard and firm if that is your preference. Front desk staff is always nice (Dana). The Internet doesn't work to good. My BIGGEST issue is NO 🚫 coffee ☕ NO coffee in casino and NO coffee in

I had a comped room and I was charged $137 for it 2 weeks ago. I've made 2 attempts to email and I also called and talked to the front desk, she said the manager we would call me back. This was 5 days ago. Plus the last 2 times I've been the TV didn't work because they have a new satellite system I believe that's not…

My husband and I really enjoy going to the Golden Nugget in Cripple Creek. Our casino host Brandon P. is the best host we have ever had. He is very knowledgeable about the property and Golden Nugget as a company. He is friendly and outgoing, which is a wonderful change from the hosts we have had at other casinos.
