The short version

What visitors say about Johnny Nolon's Casino

Johnny Nolon's is a quiet casino in an old Bennett Avenue building, and it gets reviewed more as a place to eat than to gamble. A new Italian restaurant has drawn glowing early reviews for its pasta, meatballs and garlic cheese bread, and the regular kitchen turns out a smashburger, a slopper and a hearty breakfast with a view of the street. One regular likes the old style slot machines.

Service is the problem. Over the years reviewers describe waits of 40 minutes to an hour for food, a single cook or server on duty, and meals that arrived cold or wrong. The casino floor has the same trouble with drinks, and players have gone an hour or more without a server stopping by.

For was good, had a smashburger and the slopper. Smashburger was cooked perfectly, tasted good, slopper was tasty, would be nice if slopper was served on a plate instead of the soggy tissue paper. Had the pueblo style fries, they were very yummy. Service was okay, never offered refills during meal, finally offered when we were paying bill.

4 in our party ate a new restaurant inside Johnny Nolands Casino called Nonas. It's a traditional Italian restaurant with classic decor.

We’re thrilled to hear that you and your group enjoyed so many of our dishes, from the roasted garlic and house bread to the meatballs, lasagna, and chicken parmesan. The casino itself is not one of the better ones in town. However the atmosphere is quiet, most of the staff are friendly and the service is ok here. The restaurant is where you want to be though! The food is fantastic when Mary and Larry
