McGills is a small hotel with the casino downstairs, in the middle of Bennett Avenue, and guests who return often like the clean rooms and a location that puts the whole strip within a short walk. The beds are very firm; one guest loved that, another woke up sore. The Pint & Platter pub serves fish and chips and a Guinness stew in a bread bowl that diners enjoyed. It's a Triple Crown property, sister to the Brass Ass.

Bathrooms are small with showers only, and the food beyond the pub favorites is uneven. Service at the bar and the cashier can be slow. The casino is strict about anyone under 21, and a mother with a baby was stopped at the door on her way to the second floor restaurant, which can only be reached through the casino. Parking is street only and tight.

    I’m extremely upset as my family and I were in cripple creek for the ice festival and we wanted to eat at Dynamite Dicks. I had my 6 month old with me, I know it’s a law to not have anyone under the age of 21 enter the casino. However, the only entrance to the restaurant which is on the second floor is through the…

    We didn't stay at the hotel but we did have lunch. The hamburger my friend said didn't really have any flavor. And I can tell you my bison dip had absolutely no flavor. The other two dishes my friends said they were pretty good. Service was great atmosphere is great. Not sure for the money I would go back. Parking is on the street and a little difficult to find a slot.
