The Downtown Grand sits a block off the Fremont canopy, an easy walk to the action. Rooms feel modern and fresh, and the higher floors look out across the city. Reviewers describe the staff as warm, bartenders and front desk especially, and several call the prices good value. Valet ran one guest $20 a day, which they considered fair for Vegas.
Room upkeep is uneven. Guests report ants, stains, a urine smell and used soap left from the last occupant. Rooms advertised with jet tubs or bathtubs turned out not to have them. The pool hosts parties loud enough to rattle windows high up the tower, and check in can be slow when only one clerk is working.
