The short version
Main Street Station is the downtown hotel people take pictures of indoors. Carved wood, stained glass, chandeliers and ornate ceilings fill the public spaces, and guests who stay once tend to come back. It's a smaller property, easy to get around, and Fremont Street is a few minutes away on foot, with a bridge through the California for anyone heading that way. You get the walk without the canopy noise.
Rooms are clean and spacious, though several guests mention a cramped toilet area and a couple call the decor dated. Parking is in a garage on site. One guest warns that rooms facing the freeway get constant traffic noise and suggests asking for the other side when booking. There's no pool, the wifi is slow unless you pay, and the buffet is cheap and middling. Slot players are the least happy group here, with a couple calling the machines tight.

This is a great old school downtown vegas hotel. You are easy 4 min walk to Fremont street but feel a little secluded from the madness of Fremont street.

Main Street is a precious gem tucked in the corner away from the hustle and bustle. Beautiful Victorian inspired hotel. The wood carved walls, chandeliers, ornate ceilings, beveled glass doors, pianos, etc., etc. are absolutely exquisite. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. I can't wait for my next stay!

The room wasn’t too bad besides there being no microwave which would have been handy. The lady at check in was nice and it was easy to get checked in. We were also close to Fremont. Security was annoying as heck, however. They were just too much for someone simply passing by, going overboard and such. Weren’t even polite, very disappointed.

The hotel is nice, but when we arrived the room was dirty. There was a cotton swab and other items in the mini-fridge. We asked them to clean, and they did remove the cotton swab, but they left other items in the mini-fridge and also took the beers we had stored, even though we specified that it was only the food and…
