The D puts you right on Fremont Street, under the canopy, and the location is what guests praise first. Check in comes with a free beer, hotel guests get into the pool at Circa, and the rates are fair for downtown. Front desk staff draw plenty of compliments. The catch is noise. Rooms on the Fremont side pick up the street party well after midnight, so ask for a high floor facing the other way.

The rooms are where it slips. Several guests booked nonsmoking and still ended up in rooms that smelled of smoke, and others describe rattling air units, broken fixtures and no fridge or microwave. Billing is another sore spot, with complaints about surprise deposits and refunds that came back slow or short. Water, sodas and coffee are priced high, and a couple of gamblers felt the machines gave little back.
