The short version
El Cortez ranks among the oldest casinos in town, a few blocks east of the canopy on Fremont Street, and it trades on that age. Guests like the vintage feel, the renovations that keep it from looking tired, and a casino floor where slot influencers are often filming. Show a boarding pass and the casino hands out free play. Tower rooms are the safer pick, clean and with wood floors. The Cabana Suites look cute, but guests there ran into lights that didn't work and water problems.
Noise is the big problem. A nightclub next door plays loud music into the early morning, and guests on that side say the building shakes until 4 or 5 a.m. Beds are hard and blankets scarce. Doormen, valets and desk staff get warm reviews, and several people call it a good deal for the money.

I love this place. The renovations are awesome. I showed my boarding pass from my flight and got 10 dollars free play. I turned it into $574. So much fun. They let the slot influencers film their play. I played minimum bet on a machine they pumped money into. Got real lucky on a machine they lost on.
