The short version

What visitors say about Tropicana Atlantic City

The Tropicana is enormous, spread over several towers, and first timers complain that there are too few signs. What it does well is on the ground floor: lots of restaurants, clothing shops and a large casino, with the beach and Boardwalk right outside. The recent renovations win compliments, and many guests found their rooms spacious and clean.

Then there are the elevators. Guests in the Solana tower describe waits of 15 minutes to nearly an hour, packed cars that pass them by and, for some, a long walk down the stairs with their luggage. Check in is the other sore spot. Kiosks that wouldn't finish the job, rooms not ready on time, key cards that failed and air conditioning that didn't work sent several guests back to the desk two or three times in a night. Others mention grimy bathrooms and resent paying a resort fee for all that.

We recently stayed at the Tropicana in Atlantic City for the Fourth of July weekend. Overall, the hotel itself was very clean, and the renovations look fantastic. The rooms and common areas felt updated and well maintained, which made for a comfortable stay.

Unfortunately, there were two major issues that really…

Not impressed. Staff is friendly, valet moved quickly. Good food options, avoid Hard Rock. Good places to shop. Our "upgraded" room, bit of a joke. Cheap TP, tissues, towels. Rock hard bed, and you get two sheets with a thin blanket in

This was my first time at the Tropicana. If you've never been to this hotel, it's huge! It has 5 towers, and not a lot of maps or enough signage to guide you. But, great places to eat and friendly service everywhere. The room was cleanish! I always clean the tables, counters, TV remote & toilet seat. The counters had…

Hmmm. We stayed in a king Solana Partial Ocean View Room. While it was a renovated room, the renovations were ongoing with the elevator. Waiting 20+ minutes was horrific to get up and down from the room. Day of check out, we decided to take

    Response from the owner

We aim to address all feedback promptly. The elevator delays during renovations clearly impacted your stay. We're glad the room, gambling, dining, and boardwalk were enjoyable highlights.
