The short version

What visitors say about Gold Dust West Casino

Gold Dust West is a locals casino west of downtown, and most of its fans come for the food. The prime rib dinner is the famous order, a generous cut at a low price, and breakfasts are big: ham steak, hash brown casserole, biscuits and gravy, a carafe of coffee left at the table. Servers get warm words. Slot players who want to escape the smoke can use an enclosed nonsmoking section.

The restaurants do not admit anyone under 21, which has caught parents with a teenager or toddler by surprise, and one pair of travelers was turned away for carrying luggage. The restaurant no longer stays open around the clock, whatever the sign says. Bar service can be slow when only one bar is staffed, and players disagree about the machines: a few call them loose, more call them tight, and the free play offers keep changing.
