The short version

What visitors say about J Resort

J Resort is the old Sands Regency after a full renovation, a few blocks west of the Virginia Street casinos, and the rooms show the money spent. Guests describe them as updated, large and clean, and the upper tower rooms look out toward the Sierra. The downtown arch, the other casinos and the Riverwalk are all a short walk away, and the front desk gets credit for friendly, flexible service.

Service has not kept pace with the look. Rooms are not cleaned daily unless you ask, and several guests found requests for towels or a trash pickup ignored. The restaurants are short staffed on busy nights, the pool is small and has been closed, and parking is hit or miss. Gamblers are the least impressed: the casino smells of smoke, and one guest found just three tables open in the evening and none early in the morning.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the J Resort Reno during the 4th of July weekend. We arrived around 1 PM on Friday the 3rd and were able to check in early to our Aspen Tower king room. The room itself was decently sized and had a great view of the Sierras. Everything was clean and I felt it was a good value. I do wish…

We stayed here for a few days! Hotel was nice, rooms were updated and spacious! We liked that the rooms were smoke free!! Also we couldn’t hear much from our room (besides outside noise) never heard anyone stopping or talking which was a plus! The only thing we didn’t like was that we had to ask for our room to be cleaned!
