Mandalay Bay sits at the far south end of the Strip, and nearly every review is about the hotel rather than the tables. The pool area carries it. Families like the sand beach and the lazy river, though a couple of guests found the wave pool produced barely a ripple. Rooms get good marks for cleanliness and comfort, and the food runs to sit down restaurants and a food court for cheaper meals.

Service draws most of the complaints. Guests describe hour long check in lines, long waits for keys and rooms, and elevators that were slow or out of action. The minibar catches people out: fridges arrive fully stocked, and several guests were billed after shifting items to fit their own food. Budget for resort and parking fees on top of the rate. Smoke on the casino floor bothers some visitors, while others found it faint.
