The short version
The Orleans is a big resort on West Tropicana, and plenty of people come for reasons that have little to do with gambling. It has a bowling center large enough for tournaments, a movie theater, a concert theater and convention space. Dining runs to a steakhouse, casual sit down spots and cheap counter food, and most diners leave satisfied. Parking is free. Get a renovated room if you can; guests in them call them new, clean and comfortable.
Older rooms are another story, with hard beds, worn furnishings and no coffee maker or fridge. Renovation work has also meant water shutoffs to guest rooms. The casino floor is smoky, the resort fee annoys people who found their rooms bare, and a couple of guests say security came on far too strong over small things. One guest never saw a $150 deposit returned.

Getting into the parking lot is a little difficult, it wasn't obvious where to go to park. But once I found it, I had to walk another half a mile to find the front desk. Not much in the way of signs, they're very sketchy and not very clear,

I went to see a Led Zeppelin tribute band in their nice theater. Very comfortable very fun very easy-going. The crowd was sort of a normal crowd without a lot of pump and ceremony like you see fancy people coming into various casinos right on the strip. We stayed in room 350 facing the pool. The room was completely renovated and new. I would stay here over any 4 star property in Las Vegas. This room was beautiful and beige colors, new furniture, fixtures and super clean. Valet was quick

We bowl in a tournament here every year. The bowling alley is great. We usually stay offsite but this year decided to take advantage of the free/discounted rooms that come with the league. stayed here a week ago and the security staff was way out of line threatening to kick me out of my hotel room for asking a guy for a cigarette at a slot machine. after he gave me a smoke i said thanks and gave him a dollar for it .this lady security guard tells me i cant do that i have to buy cigarettes from the store…
